The Brutix is a very robust and versatile ship. In mining ops the Brutix can be fitted for the role of protector or miner. While the protector fittings will vary by your taste in combat gear, there is no denying the mining power of seven Miner II's which can be fitted by adding three CPU Upgrade modules. Once you start getting into skill bonuses, gang bonuses, and link bonuses the "raw mining power" to "cost and skill requirements" ratio of the Brutix goes through the roof. In solo mining the Brutix can hold its own without breaking a sweat in systems where its brother, the Vexor, would be nervous of NPC Rats.

In its combat role, the Brutix is again quite robust, although somewhat less versatile than the other races' battlecruisers. Although it does reasonably well using railgun turrets and drones versus NPCs, its real advantages shine through when it is employed as a blasterboat in PVP. In similar fashion to its larger cousin, the Megathron, its hybrid damage bonus and large number of turret hardpoints can be coupled with a Microwarp drive and blasters to give it a very high damage output as well as an ability to rapidly respond to threats. In terms of tanking, it can afford to neglect employing a more thorough resistance-based tank in favor of a dual armor repairer setup because of its armor repairer effectiveness bonus. A capacitor energy guzzling setup like this is usually offset by including a capacitor injector.

On paper the above setup would look like this:

  • High Slots
    • 7x Heavy Electron Blaster II
  • Medium Slots
    • 1x 10mn Microwarpdrive
    • 1x Stasis Webifier
    • 1x 20km one point Warp scrambler, or 7.5km two point Warp Scrambler, depending on personal preference and the type of enemy you expect to encounter.
    • 1x Medium Capacitor Booster I (The good ol cap injector)
  • Low Slots
    • 2x Medium Armor Repairer II
    • 3x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

Then fill your cargo hold full of 800 cap charges and enough hybrid charges for a few reloads. Couple this with 5 med drones (A few Target painter drones are recommended: they'll buff your damage enough to make your jaw drop. Or, alternatively at least one Webifier drone will come in handy as it will boost the target's siganture resolution, and slow him down, which is good for blasters. Again, it's personal preference, either seems to work.)

Note: Tech I versions of this setup are also quite effective but for best results, use Tech II
