Type : Storyline - Encounter
Agent: Ikonaiki Ebora

Mission briefing

At ease, soldier. Alright, before I send you out on any kind of sensitive missions, I want to see how you handle your ship against some common pirate scum. Some Gurista thugs are menacing workers in a nearby asteroid belt, and the miners working it have requested that we clean up the area. See to it.
(Jouvulen III - Science and Trade Institute School version)

Overview and Objectives

Objective
Clear the pirates from the asteroid belt, as your agent has requested on behalf of a group of miners.

Hint

Stargates are marked in the overview settings panel under the 'Celestial' group. Once you have selected 'Stargate' in the overview settings, right click on the destination system in your mission journal and hit 'set destination'. You will notice that the stargates in your overview that lead to the destination system will be colored yellow. Simply right click on them and hit 'warp to within 0M', jump through the stargate, and repeat this process until you are located inside the destination system. This process will allow you to quickly navigate to your destination.

For this first mission, you will not have to warp outside of the current system. To warp to the mission location, once undocked, right click in space and select your mission from the drop down menu, then Encounter, then 'warp to location within 0m'. To return to the station, you can perform this same action, but choose to warp to the agent home base instead of the encounter.

Considering where you are in your career, you will probably have to approach the pirates closely before you have a chance of hitting them. You will need to train skills to improve your long range combat capabilities, and later on improve your tracking to hit small and agile targets near your ship. For now though approaching the target and hitting it from close range should suffice.

After you have completed the mission, if you have problems finding your way back to the agent, simply open the People and Places tab in your NeoCom and check the 'Agents' window. The agent you are working for should be displayed there. You can simply right click on him/her and 'set destination' to find your way back to his/her system.

Mission briefing

<player name>, ill news: The Guristas have retaliated against their defeat at your hands by kidnapping one of the miners, and they are demanding a hostage swap. They want the one responsible for their comrades' deaths. In short, they want you. Fools! Apparently they do not realize how dangerous capsuleers are, so head out there and teach them a lesson. A very painful one.
(Jouvulen III - Science and Trade Institute version)

Overview and Objectives

Acquire

  • 1 Civilians (5,0 m3)

Objective
Eliminate the pirates and rescue the civilian miner they are holding as a captive.

Granted items
The following items are granted to you when the mission is accepted:

Rewards

  • 1 Condor (Jouvulen version)
  • 44,000 ISK will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within 1 hour 28 minutes.

Hint
As you can see in the journal, you need to retrieve 1 civilian to complete the mission. After you warp to the deadspace and destroy the hostiles, one of them will drop a cargo container near the ship's wreck. Inside this container you will find the civilian. Return him back to your agent to complete the mission.

Mission briefing

The mining corporation is happy, but now the governor of the station is displeased. A Gurista thief has stolen some sensitive documents from the station's databanks, and the governor is threatening to have me discharged if I don't retrieve her documents. You've proven reliable in the past, so I'm entrusting you with this. Get those documents back for me.
(Jouvulen III - Science and Trade Institute School version)

Overview and Objectives

Bring Item Objective

  • Acquire 1 Secret Documents (0,1 m3)

Objective
Destroy the pirates, loot the secret documents from the container they leave behind, and report back to your agent.

Granted Items

Rewards

  • 1 image:Icon06_01ws.png Propulsion Jamming
  • 111,000 ISK will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within 3 hours and 6 minutes.

Hint
You may have noticed that the last mission gave you a brand new frigate as a reward. However this frigate does not come equipped with any modules, you will have to acquire those yourself. I would suggest taking the civilian gun from your rookie ship and installing it onto your new frigate. You will receive better weapons as a reward after you complete your current mission.

When you warp to the encounter, you will notice a Spider Drone nearby. It is probably far above your league difficulty-wise, but fortunately it only webifies your ship, so your best bet would be to ignore it and concentrate on the targets that are closer to your skill level.

Mission briefing

The enemy who escaped from you during your last mission goes by the name of Tahamar ... and it just happens that I've been after him ever since he killed a friend of mine, a man named Arewachi Itela. Ah, well, I suspect we'll get a chance to avenge Itela before long. But let's leave that aside for a moment.

One of my patrols just discovered a hidden stargate located inside a large deadspace field. Of course, stargates are illegal without official authorization because the deadspace interference means they cannot be detected by long-range scanners. My men managed to secure a bookmark to the location, but I want you to go scout out the area. Let me know what you find.

Overview and Objectives

Objective
Warp to the deadspace area. Find the stargate and approach it.

Rewards

  • 1 MN Afterburner I
  • 36,000 ISK will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within 1 hour and 4 minutes.

Hint
Not all missions require you to blast away enemies, but it would be advisable to load up your brand new (guns/launchers) that you received your previous mission just in case.

Mission Help

When you warp to the location given to you in the mission brief, you will find a gate; simply approach the gate, it will blast you for a small amount of damage, continually. After you have been hit once, go ahead and warp back to station, your mission is complete.

Mission Text

My sensors have found nothing in the area other than this lone stargate, partly hidden inside a cluster of rock formations. I would advise you to proceed with care, smuggler gates such as these are rarely left undefended.

Your agent instructed you to approach the stargate. Be ready to retreat should the need arise.

Your computer detects gas and radioactive materials spewing out of the stargate at frightening speed. It would be best to leave immediately before your ships starts to take damage!

The mission has been completed, report back to your agent.

Mission briefing

It appears the stargate you examined in your last mission was designed as bait... for you. After you left the area, our cleanup crew found a message from Tahamar, who wants to meet you in person, with no backup, at a small repair outpost in a nearby system. You don't have to kill the man, but I'd appreciate if you went there and at least found out what this is all about. As I'm sure I said earlier, he murdered my friend Arewachi Itela, and I owe it to his memory to follow this through.

If you're willing to take the mission, I can provide you with a Civilian Ballistic Deflection Field. It's not much, but it will improve your shield resistance against Kinetic Damage, which is what Guristas missiles usually dish out.

Overview and Objectives

Objective
Meet up with the pirate at the repair outpost. Follow his instructions and then report back to your agent.

Granted Items

Rewards

  • 1 Shield Management
  • 26,000 ISK will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within 54 minutes.

Hint
You should put spare missiles into your cargo hold, so you can reload your launchers when needed in space.(This hint is also something that wasn't there before. Pay attention to this when doing the other missions.)

Mission Text

Asan Ikkaa: It's good to see you, privateer. I have a message from Tahamar, which he asked be delivered to you. You have gone through a pretty hazardous ordeal, having to fight against our new recruits and brave one of our traps. We certainly give you credit for getting through it all in one piece. You have guts, and that's exactly the type of pilot we're looking for.

Yes you guessed it, we're here in the heart of the Caldari State but we always keep an eye out for possible additions to our fleet. You State pilots are just so much better trained than most of the scum we have back home ...

So I give you this proposition. Visit our agents to join our cause, and earn wealth beyond your wildest dreams. The stuck-up corporations here in Caldari space have nothing to offer you that we can't double, or even triple. They hoard their ISK like rats and the poor sods they hire to do their dirty work only get the scraps dropped through dozens of layers of bureaucracy. You're worth more than that. Join us to be rid of the greed and backstabbing of capitalism, to find a purpose to your life and a goal to achieve alongside the rest of our mighty host.

You have many days to consider our proposal, but first you must complete another test. When you are ready attack my ship. And if you leave this place with your life then we will know you are ready for what is ahead.

After podding Asan Ikkaa Nicely done. Perhaps we will meet some other day. For now I will be making my way back to base in my capsule.

Mission briefing

This recruitment scheme of Tahamar's... well, it unbelievable. Listen, you might be able to get work with a few Gurista agents - they can use good pilots and fighters like you, of course - but you'd need to make your way into low-security space, deal with the alliances that own half of it, and avoid the pirates in the other half. Some of those idiots will fire at anyone they see who isn't expressly one of them, no matter how much work he's done for their faction. The strands binding together the pirates we know as the Guristas are very thin, if you get my meaning.

Anyway, you'll figure it out. You seem sharp enough. So, on to your assignment.

Now back to your assignment. We managed to track down Tahamar to a small pirate outpost in a nearby system. It's time to flush that miscreant out. Destroy the outpost, and with any luck you'll get Tahamar as well, effectively killing two flies in one swing.

Overview and Objectives

Objective
Destroy Tahamar's Outpost. You will find it in the final room of the complex.

Rewards

  • 1 Limited Ocular Filter
  • 64,000 ISK will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within 2 hours and 12 minutes.

Mission Text

Looks like the next acceleration gate is guarded. You'll have to take care of the guards before you can get through.

In the last room of the complex.

Looks like you found the pirate outpost. Your instructions were to destroy it. I would recommend leaving the loot in the wreck after you obliterate the structure, you would not want to be caught trying to jump between systems with contraband in your cargo-hold. The local security forces do not look kindly upon such activity.

Mission briefing

Not only did (The Devout/Tahamar) escape your attack on his outpost, but he's retaliated against the (Empire/State). He lost his ship in the outpost destruction, so he hijacked (an Amarr Navy/a Caldari State) ship and murdered the crew, replacing it with his own men, and is now wreaking havoc with his armada in this constellation. I want you to head out and destroy as many of his people as you can. I can't promise you'll find (The Devout/Tahamar) himself, but if you do, be careful.

Overview and Objectives

Objective
Destroy the pirates at the convoy ambush site. If you get low on hit-points, simply warp out and regenerate, then warp back in.

Rewards
1 Hull Upgrades
Number Credits will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within Timeframe.

Hint
Holding down the CTRL button and left clicking on the target ships in the overview will cause your systems to lock them. This is a fast way to lock your enemies and avoids opening a popup menu in the process.

Mission briefing

Let's take a break from hunting (The Devout/Tamahar). Some envoys from (Imperial Armaments/Hyasyoda Corporation) have approached me and asked for safe passage to a nearby location. They're afraid (The Devout/Tamahar) will go after them like some ghostly boogeyman, and want my best pilot to help them on their way. You're it. Pick them up from their quarters at this bookmark, and bring them on their way.

Overview and Objectives

Objective
Fly to the hotel your agent mentioned, and retrieve the VIPs. If something is amiss, then report back to your agent with the details.

Rewards
1 (Heat Sink I/Magnetic Field Stabilizer I)
1 Weapon Upgrades will be awarded to you if you complete the mission within Timeframe.

Mission Text

I detect no life signs within the habitation module and the communication services in the adjacent security towers seems to be down. I suggest approaching (Omar's Stop/Hotel Kim) to have a better look. Its hull appears to be damaged, a cloud of radioactive gas is flowing through the cracks and filling the void surrounding the structure. The corpses floating around the Inn are most likely of people who were ejected through the airlock.

Make sure you have Large Collidable Structure (under the Entity group) selected in the overview settings, so you can easily find the structure I pointed out.

Mission briefing

The corporation of those dead envoys isn't happy, and neither am I. It's time to put an end to (this false prophet who calls himself The Devout/that terrorist). We're willing to reward you handsomely if you'll take this on. Note that (The Devout/Tamahar) is heavily guarded by his cohorts, so you'll likely need to fight your way through a few of them before getting to him.

I'm just glad it isn't the (Minmatar Republic/Gallente Federation) we're dealing with, although I'm sure you'll have a taste of them soon enough.

Just some word of advice. If you are close to taking hull damage, leave immediately, dock at a nearby station, and repair. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Overview and Objectives

Objective
Find The Devout and take him out, once and for all. If he tries to convince you to join his 'cause', ignore him, joining the pirates would only mean death, especially at this stage of your carrier.

Rewards
1 (Inquisitor/Kestrel)
1 (Small Armor Repairer I/Small Shield Booster I) will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within Timeframe.

Mission Text

I have located your target in this area. He is not in fact inside the stolen Navy ship. I detect his life signs inside the stasis webifier tower attached to his outpost. It is currently causing a major slowdown in our velocity.

Message > <color=0xffa3fc80>The Devout has ejected in a capsule from the Stasis Tower, moments before its destruction!</color>

Message > <color=0xff80d8fc>Savel Nabnela: Amazing. I never thought you'd get this far. You'd be a good addition to the ranks of the Blood Raiders, that much is certain.

Now about myself. Yes I am Savel Nabnela, (The Devout/Tahamar) is just an alias. I was discovered a few months past by my mentor, the true (Devout/Tahamar), who retired shortly afterward. We had much the same conversation then, and it ended with me pledging my life to the (Blood Raiders/Guristas). I have been greatly rewarded since then, just as they promised.

So what say you? If you want to take up arms for a greater people than the filth you currently work for, seek out our agents. You will find them far away from here, in our sovereign space, in very dangerous territory. But it's worth it, my friend.

One other thing. You should probably learn a bit more about the political landscape in our home territories before you venture there. You would need to join one of the major alliances which control the area, or at least pay for safe passage. Without their protection you might find the territory quite dangerous.

Now if you'll let me leave in one piece, I'll be on my way.</color>

Message > <color=0xff80d8fc>Savel Nabnela: You dared!! No ... this cannot be ... I am undone... *silence*</color>

All right, time to cool off a little. You've done good work, and all that remains is to enjoy the spoils. I've written up a report of all your missions with me, and want you to bring it on this data chip to the (Imperial/Caldari) Navy headquarters. They'll take care of any loose ends.

Just so you know, I didn't mention a word about (The Devout/Arewachi Itela). The man had friends, and it won't do them or him any good if I sully his reputation. I'll be sure to reward you well for your silence.

I’ve heard of someone who is seeking the help of dependable capsuleers like yourself. Her name is Sister Alitura, she works for the Servant Sisters of Eve quite a way from here, over at Arnon IX - Servant Sisters of EVE. I recommended another capsuleer to her a while ago and I’ve not heard back from them since, so I wouldn’t expect the work ahead to be easy. Still, if you’re interested, it sounds like she might have plenty of work to keep you busy.
