Cynosural fields (abbr. cyno), created by Cynosural Field Generators, are required to operate Jump Drives. A ship equipped with the generator must move to the desired system, and activate the Cyno for the Jump capable ship to lock onto them. This allows the Jump capable ship to transport to the system of the Cynosural Field without using a Stargate. For Capital Ships, this is the only way to travel from system to system, because they cannot use Stargates.

Cynosural Fields require Liquid Ozone to operate.
