Hek is a high-sec star system in the Metropolis Region, Barvigrard Constellation. Hek has 9 planets, in total 42 moons, 12 asteroid belts and no ice fields. It has 5 stations and 5 stargates.

The Hek system is a major hub for the trade, combat, mining, and manufacturing industries in the Metropolis region. Similar to Jita and Rens, Hek has a constant stream of capsuleers partaking of its numerous services at all hours of the day. Known to those who frequent the system, the Boundless Creation Station hosts a bustling marketplace that is on par with other Empire hotspots such as Jita and Rens. Part of its popularity might be that it is home to the corporate headquarters for a major (npc) Minmatar tribal group, the Krusual.


Notable neighboring systems are Nakugard, Otou, and Eystur. Nakugard hosts a branch of the Republic University, a top notch place to get any skill book you could ever need. Otou provides a plethora of opportunities for combat-related professions and thrill-seekers, and Eystur has a stockade of manufacturing centers just waiting to be used.

Whilst officially Hek is 0.5 security, one jump away is Hror which has a direct gate to an extensive area of low-sec space all within Metropolis region and with few other in-routes. Hek probably became a trade hub because it is located in the Metropolis region and has two adjacent solar systems in two different regions: Otou is in Sinq Laison and Eystur is in Heimatar thus allowing quick and easy price comparison between those three regions. It is also near Ani constellation which is filled with COSMOS agents.

As a system with security of 0.5, you are able to anchor containers here, and at least some of the stargates are littered with various containers, advertising various things.
