Hybrid ammunition or hybrid charges are ammunition rounds that are fired by hybrid turrets. Hybrid ammunition does kinetic and thermal damage.

Overview

There are eight primary types of hybrid ammunition:

  • Antimatter charges
  • Plutonium charges
  • Uranium charges
  • Thorium charges
  • Lead charges
  • Iridium charges
  • Tungsten charges
  • Iron charges

Moving from top to bottom, the type of ammunition loaded into a hybrid turret affects the following attributes of the turret in the following ways: longer optimal range, lower capacitor use (until lead charges, and then decreasing again after iridium charges), lower kinetic and thermal damage done.

Hybrid ammunition comes in four sizes: small (frigate), medium (cruiser), large (battleship), and extra large (capital). Each size must be loaded into the correct turret – it is not possible to mix and match turret and ammunition sizes.
