Learning is a skill tree that contains skills that advance your skill learning by increasing attributes and lowering learning time. Training these skills can both be very useful and yet absolutely useless. But hopefully you will manage to balance them out.

Note that if you max out all skills it will take years for you to gain any time.

Skills

Learning (Rank 1)

2% bonus per level to all attributes resulting in an over all faster skill training time.

Basic Attribute Skills

Analytical Mind (Rank 1)
1 point bonus to your Intelligence attribute per skill level.
Empathy (Rank 1)
1 point bonus to your Charisma attribute per skill level.
Instant Recall (Rank 1)
1 point bonus to your Memory attribute per skill level.
Iron Will (Rank 1)
1 point bonus to your Willpower attribute per skill level.
Spatial Awareness (Rank 1)
1 point bonus to your Perception attribute per skill level.

Advanced Attribute Skills

Each of these skills requires that you have the appropriate lower level skill at rank 4.

Clarity (Rank 3)
SOCT Advanced awareness training. While this training obviously is of great value to anyone, the most impressive results are achieved by students with great latent potential. These students develop almost superhuman sensory abilities and can react to stimuli so fast that, to the untrained eye, it almost seems as if they can predict the future.
Adds 1 additional point to your Perception attribute per skill level.
Eidetic Memory (Rank 3)
SOCT Advanced mnemonic training. While this training obviously is of great value to anyone, the most impressive results are achieved by students with great latent potential, allowing them to recall nearly anything they have ever experienced with total lucidity.
Adds 1 additional point to your Memory attribute per skill level.
Focus (Rank 3)
SOCT Advanced self-discipline training. While this training obviously is of great value to anyone, the most impressive results are achieved by students with great latent potential. These students are able to remain focused and alert under extreme pressure, and can ignore pain and fatigue for extended periods of time.
Adds 1 additional point to your Willpower attribute per skill level.
Logic (Rank 3)
SOCT Advanced intelligence training. While this training obviously is of great value to anyone, the most impressive results are achieved by students with great latent potential. These students develop an intuitive understanding of complex patterns and are able to grasp esoteric concepts with incredible ease.
Adds 1 additional point to your Intelligence attribute per skill level.
Presence (Rank 3)
SOCT Advanced social consciousness training. While this training obviously is of great value to anyone, the most impressive results are achieved by students with great latent potential. Training in this skill allows a student to develop heightened mental sensitivity, to the point of being able to sense the surface mood and emotions of a person.
Adds 1 additional point to your Charisma attribute per skill level.

Mean Value

Seeing as you gain 1 Attribute point for each level but different levels have different Skill Points and you can't train Rank 3 unless you train Rank 1 to level IV, here is a devised mean value list where Skill Points are shown per Attribute point gained for each level, in the quickest way possible. This should give you a good idea of how much you want to train your attribute skills.

  • Math: (Rank 1 Skill Points + Rank 3 Skill Points) / (Rank 1 level + Rank 3 level)
  • SP = Skill Points
  • AP = Attribute Points

Here, a graph represents the Mean SP to attribute skill level ratio. It is clear from this that training the basic attribute skills as well as the Rank 3 ones to V holds little end reward in many cases.

AP Mean SP Total SP Math Time to break even (approx)
1: 250 250 (250+0)/(1+0) 8 hours, 20 minutes
2: 707 1414 (1414+0)/(2+0) 1 day 23 hours
3: 2666 8000 (8000+0)/(3+0) 11 days 3 hours
4: 11313 45255 (45255+0)/(4+0) 62 days 20 hours
5: 9201 46005 (45255+750)/(4+1) 63 days 21 hours
6: 8250 49498 (45255+4243)/(4+2) 68 days 18 hours
7: 6808 69255 (45255+24000)/(4+3) 96 days 5 hours
8: 22628 181020 (45255+135765)/(4+4) 251 days 10 hours
9: 43529 391765 (256000+135765)/(5+4) 1 year 179 days
10: 102400 1024000 (256000+768000)/(5+5) 3 years 326 days

In this context, the time to break even is defined as the time taken to catch up to a hypothetical player who has been training skills with the same primary attributes instead of training learning first. It does not take into account secondary attributes (which will break even at half the rate).
