The Machariel is the largest battleship available to players in the EVE online universe. Many choose it due to its novelty size and dominating appearance. Its hefty price often puts players off using it in battle, but its sheer tanking potential and rate of fire bonuses can make it a deadly opponent with a skilled pilot. With 'Slave' implants and 3 armor plates in the low slots in fittings, its armor hit-points can reach 80,000, making it a tough and lengthy tank to break.
In addition, it is also by far the fastest Battleship around, and is capable of a nano fit that makes even Typhoon pilots' jaws drop, and is capable of mounting a significant shield tank on this. Rigged Machariels, especially ones fitted with officer webs, are the bane of most fast-charging heavy close-range ships such as Megathrons, Vigilants and Ravens and Rattlesnakes fitted with torpedoes, being able to swiftly evade their short-ranged weapon systems and often capable of escaping them even if caught within web range.
The Mach, as the Machariel is commonly known, has fallen somewhat out of favor with cashed up pod pilots since the nano-nerf. Although its tanking abilities remain intact, its speed potential has dramatically fallen. Although still faster than most, if not all, other battleships, it can no longer reach its former speed.

Description & Bonuses
While its utilitarian look may not give much of an indication, many are convinced that the Machariel is based on an ancient Jovian design uncovered by the Angel Cartel in one of their extensive exploratory raids into uncharted territory some years ago. Whatever the case may be, this behemoth appeared on the scene suddenly and with little fanfare, and has very quickly become one of the Arch Angels' staple war vessels.
