Projectile ammunition (or projectile ammo) is ammunition that is fired by a projectile turret. All projectile ammo does some kinetic damage and most do explosive as well, but three in particular specialize in high amounts of non-kinetic damage: Fusion in explosive, Phased Plasma in thermal, and EMP in EM damage.

Most projectile charge types affect your optimal range.

Projectile ammunition comes in four sizes: small (frigate), medium (cruiser), large (battleship), and extra large (capital). Each size must be loaded into the correct turret – it is not possible to mix and match turret and ammunition sizes.

Faction ammo can offer more damage output, improving upon normal ammunition. As with most faction items, cost and availability are the major deterrents.
