The Rapier is the Minmatar Force Recon ship. Based on the Bellicose hull, it is able to mount a Covert Ops Cloak and a Covert Cyno generator. It is designed to go behind enemy lines and light a beacon for Black Ops Battleships. Alternately, it can forgo the Cyno generator and mount extra weaponry.

Besides its covert uses, the Rapier is used mostly in gangs and fleets as a force multiplier; it can use its extended range Webs to lock down enemy frigates and Interceptors for easy sniping. Combined with its bonus to Target Painters, the Rapier is an excellent support platform for Missile-based gangs and any fleet.

Used solo, the Rapier is used by pirates as a Hunter/Killer; it finds targets, such as lone pirates or unaware ratters, and using a combination of Artillery and Drones wipes them out. It can be a tricky vessel to fly as it is fairly squishy, not being able to mount a large tank. Besides this drawback, however, the Rapier can escape from virtually any enemy with its long web range and an MWD.

Force recon ships are the cruiser-class equivalent of covert ops frigates. While not as resilient as combat recon ships, they are nonetheless able to do their job as reconnaissance vessels very effectively, due in no small part to their ability to interface with covert ops cloaking devices and set up cynosural fields for incoming capital ships.

Core Complexion's ships are unusual in that they favor electronics and defense over the "lots of guns" approach traditionally favored by the Minmatar.
