Transport Ships

From EVEWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Transport ships are more robust, T2 versions of the Industrial Ships class of cargo vessel.

Designed for blockade running and long-distance trips through hostile or lawless territory, the Transport ship typically has enhanced resistances, better speed and handling, and some versions even have an inbuilt warp stabilizer rating, making them much more slippery than the standard cargo hauler.

There are two classes of transport ships: deep-space transports and blockade runner transports. Deep-space transports provide a +2 bonus to warp strength and have the most low slots among transport ships. Blockade runners allow fitting a Covert Ops cloaking device, but have fewer low slots.

Deep-Space Transports

Deep-space transports have more hitpoints and cargo capacity than their blockade runner cousins which they gained by sacrificing agility. All versions gain +2 warp strength.

Blockade Runners

The blockade runners sacrifice cargo space and tank to gain considerable agility. The goal with this type of ship is to avoid detection by hostiles rather than tank their incoming fire. Their fast alignment time and ability to warp while cloaked makes them ideal for moving small precious cargo through potentially hostile areas.

The prowler is a common favorite for wormhole transport as you can fit both a probe launcher and the covert ops cloak module.
