ShipStats Template

Why did you add the line
Shield hit points recharge : 3.9064 per second
...to it? This is wrong in many ways. - Pesi 04:47, 11 May 2008 (PDT)

The number is correct, whats wrong? --Rfry 20:30, 30 May 2008 (PDT)

What's wrong is that the template is used for many ships and at most a single one of them has that particular rate of shield recharge, making every instance not on the ship you had in mind at the time wrong. Also, since both the total recharge time and the shield amount are both listed, this entry is redundant; users can do simple division to find this out. Also, sign your comments, please. - Pesi 05:52, 12 May 2008 (PDT)
I posted said entry because it was convenient to the reader, allowing them to see their base shield recharge rate at a glance without having to do any math. --Rfry 20:30, 30 May 2008 (PDT)

Your additions

They are interesting and IMO a much needed domain of information for the wiki. I like the fact that you're sourcing to back up your assertions from various CCP or academic authorities. That Neutral Point Of View (NPOV) is something I learned to respect over at Wikipedia. Uni Zueto 04:55, 10 July 2008 (PDT)

It is perhaps too early to criticize these pages of yours, but still... I would like to see more reference to the game in the articles. For instance, the Political Strategy page could do with examples of the various strategies in practice. Otherwise, a reference to the Wikipedia page on the same topic would serve as well. ... Such links would not be entirely out of line, either.--Eirik Ratcatcher 09:58, 15 July 2008 (PDT)
Eirik, i agree I would also like to add more references. Unfortunately not all alliances speak of the exact strategy they used, they often consider it "secret" also as I collect the information that was public from the major alliances, theres always the possibility that what was public was actually disinformation. I'm working on collecting what I find and add it. Also if theres any such articles, you speak of can u give me a link so i can go read them. --Dasfry 14:40, 15 July 2008 (PDT)
Not a clue. I've mentioned elsewhere... I don't currently have an active account, did much of a trial period. So I've very little history of the game, or connections, or etc.  :( --Eirik Ratcatcher 14:44, 15 July 2008 (PDT)
I'm really impressed with your tactics and strategy pages. However, the Tables of Contents tend to be rather long, which can cut down on searchability and scanability, two very important aspects of web usability. I would like to see you work on wikifying your articles more ... Perhaps breaking them down into subpages or something that will make the information more searchable. I really respect your efforts! You have chosen a deep area to jump into! Keep up the great work and let me know if you have any questions! Meta Tinara 10:56, 18 July 2008 (PDT)
Thank you, There is still a lot more I would like to add, however I have cleaned up some parts as well. For example the Military principles part has been moved to its own page. --Dasfry 14:35, 18 July 2008 (PDT)
Oh a question for you Meta Tinara, what exactly do you mean by wikifying it? I'm assuming you mean to make it more wiki style friendly, but can you clarify?

New: Boilerplates

Your comments on talk about boilerplates are requested. --Eirik Ratcatcher 12:49, 4 August 2008 (PDT)

I'm not that familiar with what Boilerplates are, for me to give an opinion on something I'm not familiar with seems out of place, I do appreciate the request though --Dasfry 01:24, 5 August 2008 (PDT)
Easy-peasy. These particular boilerplates are designed as a sort of "fill in the blank" solution for making new pages (of that type). Essentially, new pages of that type would be made "to look like that", and older pages would be refitted to follow the new "format the wiki expects to see". As such, I'd really like for the boilerplates to reflect "what the wiki expects to see" rather than "what Eirik thought was nifty at the time". :) Maybe folks will say "works for me" and use it as is. But if folks disagree, I'd prefer it happen before a lot of effort would need to be redone. --Eirik Ratcatcher 09:20, 5 August 2008 (PDT)

Quoting from Osama El-kadi

It makes me nervous to quote from folks. Fair use does cover it to some extent, but even so. Some of the text used on the Wikipedia page is identical to that on El-kadi's page. Could you adapt your quote on the Military Strategy page to be less from El-kadi's and more from Wikipedia's (which has a copyright license more friendly to us...). We're probably OK even as things stand, but ya never know. --Eirik Ratcatcher 13:16, 16 October 2008 (PDT)

ps - This concerned me more because I found no copyright notice on his web page at all, with the implied "all rights reserved", than because of any request. --Eirik Ratcatcher 13:18, 16 October 2008 (PDT)
Roger that, I'll remove it untill i find a better way to word this in my own words, to avoid the potential copy write issue. --Dasfry 00:11, 17 October 2008 (PDT)
Much appreciated. Hope you find time to add your version soon, and I regret putting you to extra effort. --Eirik Ratcatcher 11:20, 17 October 2008 (PDT)
