Overview

The Wolf Assault Frigate is usually the preferred Gang AF for Minmatar pilots. Most builds involve stacking Auto-cannons and a small Nosferatu for up-close combat. With it's expanded five high hardpoints over the Rifter's four, the Wolf packs an extra punch while maintaining better Armor tanking capabilities.

The downside to the Wolf is that it only has two medium hardpoints, making it very difficult to tackle with. While many pilots, roaming in Gangs or the infamous "Wolf Packs" forgo Electronic Warfare and toss in a Capacitor Booster or some other piece of equipment, it is still possible to solo with. Using an Afterburner/Micro Warp Drive in addition to a Warp Scrambler, a skilled Pilot can successfully bring enemies to their knees.

As with all Assault Frigates, the Wolf's biggest problem is the Stasis Webifier. If the Wolf is caught within range and webbed, he will lose the advantage of speed and mobility and cannot tank enough damage to survive against larger targets. This is why Wolf Pilots often travel in Gangs. The Webifier problem can be offset by the use of Artillery rather than Auto-cannons and using their speed to stay out of Web range. This is, however, a difficult build to work with and can lead to unnecessary risk.

Description & Bonuses

Name: Wolf
Hull: Rifter Class
Role: Assault Ship

Named after a mythical beast renowned for its voraciousness, the Wolf is one of the most potentially destructive frigates currently in existence. While hardier than its brother the Jaguar it has less in the way of shield systems, and the capabilities of its on board computer leave something to be desired. Nevertheless, the mere sight of a locked and loaded Wolf should be enough to make most pilots turn tail and flee.

Developer: Boundless Creation

Boundless Creation's ships are based on the Brutor tribe's philosophy of warfare: simply fit as much firepower onto your ship as possible. Defense systems and electronics arrays therefore take a back seat to sheer annihilative potential.
